Frequently asked questions

Answers about price, privacy, quality, audio, resolution and interrupted processing.

Is it free, and does my video get uploaded?

There is no account requirement or processing charge in this MVP. Computation uses your device’s GPU, battery and electricity. The application does not upload selected videos, frames or filenames. Hosting requests for page assets and model files are normal network traffic and may appear in hosting logs.

Can AI recover all the original detail?

No. A larger output contains more pixels, but it cannot reliably reconstruct every detail that was never recorded. The network can create sharper-looking edges and also introduce halos, unstable textures or flicker. Always compare the result, especially where faces, readable text or authenticity matter.

Will I lose audio or change the speed?

Compatible audio packets are copied. Unsupported audio blocks the job before it starts. Source timestamps and frame durations are retained by the conversion pipeline, including variable frame timing. This is not a slow-motion or frame-interpolation tool.

Can I make every clip 4K?

No. A single pass can at most double each input dimension. A 1080p landscape source can target 4K if the GPU and encoder pass checks. A 720p source cannot reach 4K in this MVP. Some devices cannot allocate enough memory even when the browser exposes WebGPU.

What happens when I close the tab?

Active and paused jobs exist only in memory and cannot be resumed after closing or refreshing. The page asks the browser to warn you during a job, though operating systems can still close a tab. Download the result before leaving. Installed-app mode has the same device and codec restrictions.
